5-Sis Salon Interior fit out

INTRODUCTION

5 Sis Salon is the project I handled together with my colleague Arch. Quimpo. The project is located at Laoag. The scope of the project is an interior fit-out. The owner wants to have a renovated commercial space that will have a fresh design to attract more customers.

The commercial space has a rectangular shape and the client wants to have a retro look for the salon. The challenge is that we have to work on a small budget. So the design scheme should be downgraded to match the budget.

Downgrading is a great challenge for Architects but it is a form of art too; it is an obstacle that every architect faces. If architects can manage to keep the quality of the design of the project though downgrading it, clients are more satisfied.

FINAL DESIGN

We colored the walls in a shade of light green for a retro look. The cove lighting material is plywood in glossy paint finish. We chose white as the color of the divider and the cove lighting to balance the color scheme. To emphasize the dividers, just like the cove lighting panel, we placed lights to it.

The store front of 5 Sis Salon. We put frameless glass window and door and a back lit signage.

DESIGN PROCESS

1- Put dividers for shampoo and reception area to make the spaces private.

2- The pattern the client wants to emphasize the retro look of the space.

3- Incorporate the pattern to the dividers to make to make the shampoo and reception area semi-private area to have transparency.

4- To make a continuous design, we put a panel above the dividers to connect them. The panel will serve as cove lighting too.
